MBF Network Hospital and day surgery agreements are designed with the intention of reducing, or in some cases eliminating, out-of-pocket expenses relating to hospital treatment including:
- No out-of-pocket expenses for accommodation, theatre, physiotherapy and other allied health services (other than chosen excesses or Co-payments)
- Accounts for accommodation, theatre, physiotherapy and other allied health services sent to MBF not members
- More outpatient programs covered
- Smoother pre-admission procedure
- More drug charges covered including discharge drugs
- Free television hire
- Free local phone calls

If you have MBF Hospital Cover, and your doctors choose to participate for your in-hospital treatment, you're covered for the medical gap when:

Part of helping members lead healthier lives is helping to provide them with access to a wide variety of quality healthcare services and facilities.
MBF has provider agreements with many private hospitals and day surgeries, all of which are approved for benefits by the Commonwealth Government. We refer to them as Network Hospitals. MBF also offers Medical Gap Cover for all members with MBF Hospital Cover, at no additional cost.
If you have extras cover (MBF Young Cover or MBF Premium Extras), you can enjoy special advantages for preventive dental, physiotherapy and pharmaceutical services through the MBF MemberCare network of providers.
MBF MemberCare Network
MBF MemberCare is a network of providers covering dental, physiotherapy, optical and chiropractic services. MBF customers with Extras Cover can receive additional value and certainty with costs when they visit an MBF MemberCare Provider.
All MBF MemberCare Providers have a maximum charge on a range of services. This gives you the certainty that when you use your Extras Cover in one of their locations, you will receive between 70%-90% of the charge back on most services, depending on your Level of Cover.
Your Benefit will be higher than the standard Set Benefit you would receive from a non-MBF MemberCare Provider for the same service.
So look out for the MBF MemberCare logo to see if your dentist, optical provider, physiotherapist or pharmacist is participating. Use our MBF MemberCare search tool to find the details of participating providers near you.
Remember, when searching for MemberCare optical providers, use the region option rather than the Postcode option to get the widest selection.
