MBF wins top award for outstanding value health insurance

Leading private health insurer MBF was today announced as a national winner of CANSTAR CANNEX'S highest health insurance accolade - the Outstanding Value Private Health Insurance Award.
The Award recognises the exceptional overall value offered by MBF's national suite of health insurance products - including hospital, extras and packaged cover.
Bupa Australia* Marketing, Product and Corporate Affairs Director Mark Engel said MBF was proud to be named a national winner of Outstanding Value Private Health Insurance Award for the second year in a row. He said the award highlighted the exceptional products and services offered by MBF that put the product suites at the top of the market.

In addition to the national award, MBF's extras cover won the Outstanding Value Private Health Insurance Award in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory and Western Australia, while its packaged cover won the Outstanding Value Private Health Insurance Award in Western Australia.
CANSTAR CANNEX Head of Research Steve Mickenbecker said in releasing its second annual comparison of Australia's private health insurance products, CANSTAR CANNEX had reviewed and rated more than 10,000 quotes across 1500 private health insurance products.
He said the review consisted of a rigorous investigation, with each health insurance product being performance measured across all Australian states and territories and against eight commonly-identified profiles that covered young singles, young families or couples, established families, young single parents, mature singles and mature couples.
"Our second annual health insurance review was way beyond the scope of ordinary consumers. That's why the report is so important and an immensely valuable resource for those who are serious about comparing health funds and products," Mickenbecker said.
"From our review, it was clear that MBF's products were consistent across the board and that the company stood out for the broad and deep value it offered customers."
Engel said it was important for customers to shop around to find the policy that best suited their needs. "Different policies offer different features and benefits, and the cheapest policy does not always represent the best value," he said. "So it's important to take the time to find a policy that meets the needs of you and your family at your current stage in life."
