Corporate Responsibility
The MBF Group has adopted Corporate Responsibility principles linked to initiatives that create value for the community across environmental, social and economic dimensions. These initiatives include a range of community and staff programs, as well as MBF Foundation initiatives of health research, health education and programs for leading healthy lives.
The Group has Corporate Responsibility principles relating to our role in society, the environment and the economy. These principles are:
- We are committed to ensuring the sustainability of Australia’s health system and our place within the private sector.
- We are committed to providing solutions to make it easy and affordable for our customers to enjoy health and financial wellbeing.
- We recognise that fair and equitable employment opportunities and a healthy work environment for all our people are critical to our success. Our employees are treated with dignity, courtesy and respect.
- We care about the impact of our activities and remain committed to maintaining the support and goodwill of the communities on whom we depend.
- We understand that we impact on the environment and will always work toward minimising that impact.
- We shall continue to provide sustainable returns to our key economic stakeholders, operating ethically and with integrity.
Measuring Success
Tracking our Corporate Responsibility performance is important to us and we participate in the Australian and New Zealand Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI). The CRI is a voluntary and independent tool that helps track a company's performance on an annual basis in the areas of environment, community, workplace and marketplace impact. MBF is proud to be the first private health insurance company to participate in the Australian and New Zealand Community module of the 2007 Index.
